Digital Technologies and Gaming:
Implications and Applications for Language Use, Teaching and Learning <\/b><\/p>\n

There has been a highly successful series of International Workshops on Discourse Analysis (2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018), all of them held in Santiago de Compostela and organized by the SCMITAR linguistics team<\/u><\/a> within the USC Discourse & Identity<\/u><\/a> research group. IWoDA is a hub to promote multidisciplinary research and practice on discourse-related issues, pondering and exploring the multifaceted properties of language (mostly English) from different perspectives (quantitative, qualitative, linguistic, cognitive, technological, psycholinguistic, contrastive, sociolinguistic, critical, literary, cultural, filmic, semiotic, etc.).<\/p>\n

<\/a> Continuing with the dissemination work of previous workshops, in this new edition (IWoDA\u201922)<\/b> the topic is Digital Technologies and Gaming: Implications and Applications for Language Use, Teaching and Learning<\/b><\/i>, one of the results of the research project e-LPHON4L-Sounds (PID2019-105678RB-C21 \u00abE-learning phonetics for life: English pronunciation in digital environments for Spanish and Galician speaking learners\u201d, 2020-23, AEI). Four other research groups collaborate in this edition: Stellae<\/u><\/a>, LITLINAL<\/u><\/a>, ENTELEARN<\/u><\/a>, and MuStE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Keynote Speakers <\/b>will provide case studies, tools and methodologies on the topics of IWoDA\u201922, thereby promoting life-long learning and encouraging synergies between academics, practitioners, and stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Guest Speakers.<\/b> Upon initial and rigorous vetting from IWoDA\u201922 organizing committee, other invited guest speakers will present their ongoing research for discussion by colleagues and feedback from internationally acclaimed experts. Hands-on and collaborative sessions using information communication technology (ICT) tools are also highly encouraged.<\/p>\n
